Harford County in Maryland is seeking a Deputy Director of Public Works to oversee the county's highway network, environmental programs, and stormwater management. You will lead engineering, maintenance, planning, and budget development, and represent the department at executive and council meetings.

The position requires a PE license, a bachelor’s in civil engineering, 10 years of professional engineering experience, and 5 years in a supervisory role.

Qualifications

• Ten (10) years of increasingly responsible professional engineering experience, preferably government oriented.
• Five (5) years of experience at a supervisory level with full administrative responsibilities.
• Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license issued by the State of Maryland is required.
• A valid Class "C" non-commercial driver's license with no more than three (3) points.

Responsabilités

• Oversees operation, maintenance, administration, planning, and engineering of the County's highway network.
• Oversees environmental programs including MS4, Stormwater Management, and solid waste management.
• Assists the Director in budget development and presents budget proposals to the Administration and County Council.
• Represents the Department at executive meetings, hearings, and with external agencies.
