The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is a federally chartered, nonpartisan institution that was created by the US Congress to serve as America’s national memorial to the victims of the Holocaust and an educational institution dedicated to the history and lessons of the Holocaust. The Museum seeks to educate Americans from all 50 states and all walks of life as well as international audiences. The Museum has three areas of expertise: Holocaust remembrance, Holocaust scholarship and education, and genocide prevention.

Duties Include

The Deputy Director is closely involved with high level program officials in the development of overall goals and objectives for assigned staff function(s), program(s), or program segment(s).

Serves as the chief advisor to the Chief Museum Operations Officer regarding the operating status of Museum buildings and the oversight, direction, and administrative management of the Office of Museum Operations and Administration (MOA). Identifies critical needs and issues requiring immediate attention.

Serves as the lead representative for Museum Operations and Administration for the institutional priority related to designing, constructing, and operating the new Permanent Exhibition (PE).

Leads MOA budget planning, formulation, and execution process for the office in coordination with Chief Museum Operations Officer, division directors, and support staff within the office assisting with this function day to day and with staff in the Office of Finance.
