Job summary

The Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) is seeking a Deputy Director of the Office of Investigations and Labor Relations (OILR). The role will oversee confidential investigations into employee misconduct, supervise staff, and coordinate with labor unions on issues affecting the agency.

Strong analytical and communication skills are essential. As Deputy Director, you will fill in for the Director when needed, run the Critical Driver program, digitize historical records, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college; or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and supervise investigations into employee misconduct.
• Train and supervise interns and college aides working on projects.
• Serve as a SME on disciplinary issues and provide recommendations to senior staff.
• Liaise with municipal labor unions on labor-management matters and resolve grievances.
• Plan and coordinate investigation schedules and assignments.
• Prepare, review, and act on reports and recommendations for administrative action.
• Supervise training programs within the unit.
• Administer the Critical Driver program and other agency projects.
• Occasionally issue notices to employees and assist in surveillance.
