Job summary

The Delaware Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Developmental Disabilities Services, is seeking a Deputy Division Director to lead day-to-day operations and long-term planning for its programs including Home and Community-Based Services Waiver and Stockley Center.

The role oversees a team of 400+ employees, works with the Governor’s Office, and partners with providers to improve services for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

• A minimum of five years in health or human services program administration, incl. budgets and personnel.
• Master’s degree preferred in admin-related human services; other educations with experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to implement the Department and Division’s mission, values and outcomes.
• Collaborate with the Division Leadership Team and Governor’s Office on the annual budget process.
• Maintain effective relationships with advocates, stakeholders, schools and providers.
• Communicate division policies and activities to participants and families.
• Collaborate with other state agencies to maximize developmental disability services.
• Identify opportunities to improve the value of services.
• Understand impacts of federal actions on state operations and coordinate with federal partners.
