Job summary

The City of Riverside is seeking a Deputy Economic & Development Director in its Community & Economic Development Department. This exempt, at-will position will fill two vacancies and may use an eligibility list for up to six months.

Under general direction, the Deputy will plan and manage the administrative and operational functions of planning, building, code enforcement, economic development administration, and real property services; oversee division work programs and cross‑department

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in urban planning, public or business administration or related field.
• Five years of progressively responsible administrative and supervisory management experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage administrative and operational functions of planning, building, code enforcement, economic development, real property services and related areas.
• Oversee department work programs, budgets, processes and cross‑department coordination.
• Advise elected officials and boards on community development matters and program implementation.
• Develop and monitor performance metrics and ensure compliant, efficient service delivery.

Education

Bachelor's degree in urban planning or related field

Master's degree (desirable)
