Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Enforce city codes in areas such as nuisances, zoning, building codes, weed abatement, inoperable vehicles, substandard housing, dangerous buildings, health and safety, and other property maintenance requirements.
  • Inspect properties for code violations and explain ordinances to citizens to gain compliance.
  • Prepare reports and notices; issue citations and coordinate with City departments and owners for remedies.
  • Maintain case reports in department systems and coordinate with City Attorney and courts as needed for compliance.

Education

High School graduation or satisfactory equivalent (GED)
Two (2) years of responsible public contact work with enforcement experience (for Officer II)
