Job summary

Texas Health Institute is seeking a Deputy Director to lead the development, synthesis, and deployment of high-impact, evidence-based content for primary care transformation. You will translate complex literature, policy guidance, and quality frameworks into actionable tools, guides, and resources for health centers.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in public health, health services research, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in primary care, public health, quality improvement, or related field; clinical/nursing background a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize clinical literature into actionable tools or guidance.
• Experience with community health centers, safety-net providers, or health system transformation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead content development for primary care transformation initiatives and define content architecture across initiatives (Action Guides, roadmaps, toolkits, learning modules).
• Maintain ownership from concept through publication and dissemination; uphold editorial standards for clarity and usability.
• Translate evidence-based concepts into practical workflows, checklists, templates, and decision supports; apply implementation science and adult learning principles.
• Write and edit publication-ready content including action guides, transformation roadmaps, briefs, and field-facing tools; ensure concise, evidence-based writing.
• Collaborate with SMEs, program leads, instructional designers, data analysts, and communications teams to translate expertise into usable products.
• Ensure content reflects real-world workflows in safety-net primary care; incorporate stakeholder feedback to refine materials and support scale.
• Manage multiple content initiatives with defined timelines; coordinate review cycles, SME input, and version control; contribute to funder reporting and impact documentation.
