Job summary

National Library of Medicine's LHNCBC seeks a Deputy Director to share responsibility for program development, evaluation, and policy, guiding a diverse team of scientists and developers at NIH facilities in Bethesda, MD.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership in biomedical informatics, experience in software deployment and data science, and a customer-focused, collaborative approach to drive modernization and informatics initiatives across the intramural and broader biomedical research

Qualifications

• Outstanding leadership and broad expertise in program administration and software development.
• Experience with scientific computing and data science in biomedical informatics.
• Customer-focused, service oriented with collaboration across organizations.

Responsibilities

• Share responsibility for overall program development, evaluation and policy with LHNCBC Director.
• Provide strategic guidance and oversee branches and staff across LHNCBC.
• Direct the LHNCBC financial budget and manage approximately 70 staff.
• Recruitment, development and retention of LHNCBC leadership team.
