Job summary

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Design Manager to join the Gateway Program team in Newark. You will oversee the design of heavy rail systems, coordinating across architects, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver compliant, optimized solutions.

You will manage the design process from concept to construction, ensuring deliverables meet requirements and standards while leveraging your extensive tunneling project experience and strong leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
• 15+ years of related work experience, including supervisory/managerial experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
• Extensive experience in design management, preferably on large tunneling or underground construction projects.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Bentley software suites.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage resources effectively.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and assist in oversight of the design team and coordinate design activities for Heavy Rail Systems.
• Manage the design process from planning to detailed design and design reviews.
• Ensure design deliverables meet project requirements, client expectations, and standards.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and stakeholders to integrate design elements and address technical challenges.
• Review design drawings, calculations, and technical documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Support value engineering, design optimization, and coordinate with construction teams for a seamless transition from design to construction.
