Job summary

Mace, a global leader in consultancy, seeks a Civil/Structural Engineering professional to lead design management for the Gateway Program's Hudson Tunnel Project in New York. You will oversee the design team, coordinate with architects and engineers, and ensure compliance with client requirements and standards.

The role requires a PE or equivalent, strong project management, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Bentley tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • PE license or equivalent certification.
  • Extensive experience in design management, preferably on large tunneling or underground construction projects.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Bentley software suites.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage resources effectively.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze Assist in oversight of the design team and coordinating design activities for the project in the field of Heavy Commuter Rail Systems.
  • Manage the design process, including project planning, concept development, detailed design, and design reviews.
  • Ensure that design deliverables meet project requirements, client expectations, and relevant standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and stakeholders to integrate design elements and address technical challenges.
  • Review design drawings, calculations, and technical documentation for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
  • Support value engineering efforts, design optimization, and innovation in design solutions.
  • Coordinate with construction teams to ensure seamless transition from design to construction phase.

The Project

Mace, as part of MPA delivery partner joint venture of Mace-Parsons-Arcadis, have been selected as the Gateway Development Commissions partners of choice to support the GDC across the Gateway Program in New York, inclusive of the Hudson Tunnel Project.

The busiest rail connection between New York, New Jersey, and the Northeast Corridor, the Hudson Tunnel Project will improve capacity, reliability, and resiliency of commuter and intercity rail transit serving 800,000 daily passengers from Washington, D.C. to New York and New England. A milestone project supported by the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), the project is slated to receive nearly $12 billion in federal funding, the largest investment in a mass transit project in modern history.

You’ll Be Responsible For

You’ll need to have

Note: The estimated starting salary for this position is $170k. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.
