Fairfax County Government is seeking a Deputy County Executive – Safety and Security to provide executive leadership over public safety operations, strategic planning, and cross-department coordination.

Under the County Executive, the role guides policy, oversees budgets, recruits department heads, and represents the County on boards and task forces. Requires a public administration background and substantial senior management experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field.
• Eight years of progressively responsible managerial experience in government, non-profit, or private sector.
• At least five years of experience at senior or department director level.

Responsabilités

• Advises the Board of Supervisors and County Executive on strategic initiatives and operational matters.
• Implements policies established by the Board of Supervisors across assigned departments.
• Provides executive oversight of operations and administration of assigned departments.
