Job summary

Washington County is seeking an Assistant County Administrator to guide a broad portfolio including public safety and other county operations. You will work with the County Administrator, fellow ASAs, and department directors to advance a mission‑driven, community‑centered organization under the One Washington County vision.

You will lead annual budget discussions, analyze legislation, and coordinate cross‑agency initiatives while liaising with elected officials and staff to improve services for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and six years of government management experience.
• Master's degree or ICMA-CM preferred; leadership of cross‑functional teams valued.
• Experience developing and coordinating complex interjurisdictional programs.
• Strong budgetary analysis and fiscal management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio including Sheriff’s Office, District Attorney, Law Library, and Juvenile Services.
• Lead annual budget process and provide outcome‑focused recommendations.
• Represent the County Administrator in boards, committees and cross‑agency partnerships.
