German American Bank is seeking an experienced Deputy Compliance Officer to lead enterprise-wide CMS and partner with executive leadership on regulatory risk. You will guide the Compliance, BSA and CRA/Fair Lending teams, oversee regulatory change management, and shape the bank’s compliance strategy.
The role requires 5–10 years in banking compliance, 3–5 years of leadership, and a relevant bachelor’s degree; CRCM/CAMS preferred.

Day in the Life – As the Deputy Compliance Officer, you'll lead the Bank’s Compliance, BSA, and CRA/Fair Lending teams while overseeing the Bank’s enterprise-wide CMS. You’ll provide guidance on federal and state banking regulations, direct compliance monitoring and testing activities, and oversee regulatory change management efforts. You'll establish meaningful compliance metrics and reporting for executive leadership and management committees, support regulatory examinations and audits, and help ensure timely resolution of findings. Along the way, you'll collaborate with business leaders across the organization to promote sound compliance practices, provide credible challenge, and support well-controlled business operations.
