Job summary

The Augusta Judicial Circuit is seeking a gifted lawyer and humble leader to take on the role as Deputy Chief District Attorney – Violent Crimes Unit. As the Deputy Chief, you will work closely with our law enforcement partners to ensure the quality of our investigations and prosecutions.

You will be joining an office of 60 employees and you will play a key role in the strategic decision-making regarding the evaluation, charging, and prosecution of violent crimes in Richmond and Burke Counties.

Qualifications

• Active bar admission in Georgia (or reciprocity eligibility) with good standing.
• At least seven years of trial advocacy experience, preferably with major felonies.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Violent Crimes Unit and oversee investigations and prosecutions.
• Provide counsel to trial teams and lead complex cases.
• Collaborate with law enforcement partners to improve investigations.
• Set strategic direction for evaluation, charging, and prosecution.
