City of Annapolis seeks a Deputy to the Chief of Code Enforcement to lead the Division of Permits and Inspections. You will supervise inspectors, coordinate daily operations, enforce building, property maintenance and housing codes, and support performance improvements across the department.

You will interpret ordinances, respond to inquiries from builders and the public, prepare reports, and participate in budgeting and strategic initiatives.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree and seven years’ experience in construction permits and/or rental housing inspections.
• ICC certification as Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector within 30 days of employment.
• Knowledge of building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and structural engineering practices, housing code and zoning regulations.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise inspectors assigned to building or housing; verify compliance with applicable codes.
• Coordinate daily Division operations and streamline workflows for field efficiency.
• Interpret and explain building ordinances and codes to builders, contractors and residents.
• Prepare narrative and statistical reports on division progress and workload.
• Assist with budget development and department responses to complaints.
