Qualifications

  • Legal research and writing skills, with emphasis on clear, persuasive legal analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all phases of litigation, including investigation, pleadings, motions, and briefs; consultations with agencies, witness interviews; appearances before boards and courts; and settlement negotiation.
  • Manages a large caseload and provides effective and efficient delivery of legal services.
  • Prepares case files for all proceedings and timely documents all case activity per office policies.
  • Supervise work of assigned law clerks, analysts and investigators as necessary.
  • Maintains and improves legal skills by attending seminars, conferences, and timely reading of case law, statutes, and journals.
  • Maintains a professional relationship with peers, co-workers, outside agencies, board directors and the public.
  • Performs other duties and completes special projects as assigned.

About the Office of the Attorney General:

The Office of the Indiana Attorney General represents the state in cases involving the state's interest, provides legal defense to state officials or agencies in court, and gives formal legal advisory opinions on constitutional or legal questions to state officials. Salary Statement:

The salary range is: $76,597.00 - $104,000.00.
