Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required, with BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains and enters scheduling information according to guidelines for instruments, equipment, staffing and time.
  • Maintains accurate information in required scheduling/information systems.
  • Communicates surgery schedule changes/additions to requesting departments using approved methods.
  • Demonstrates proficient computer skills with Windows-based software used at Shriners.
  • Delivers courteous customer service to health care teams and patients/families.
  • Answers phones professionally; serves as first point of contact to department.

Does charge capture and reconcile, as well as creates PO's for Vendors. Works with charge nurse, Care Coordination, and other departments to assure the timeliness and accuracy of procedure scheduling. Maintains relevant information in identified databases. Accurately enters daily patient charges in required time frame.
