Day & Zimmermann seeks an experienced Supervisor, Transportation to lead on-Depot movement of railroad equipment, vehicles, and handling gear at Hawthorne Army Depot, NV. The role ensures safe, compliant operations, directs dispatch staff, and maintains audit-ready records while meeting contract requirements.

The position requires 4+ years in transportation ops with supervisory experience, and the ability to obtain a Nevada driver’s license. On-site work and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in transportation management or related field.
• 4+ years in transportation operations with at least 1 year supervising or directing staff.
• Must complete AMC Regulation 350-4 training within 90 days of hire and maintain certification.
• Must obtain and maintain a Nevada driver’s license unless physically unable to do so.
• Ability to work safely while managing hazards in transportation environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and direct dispatching and movement of railroad equipment, vehicles, and material handling equipment.
• Monitor asset utilization and maintain records for reporting, compliance, and continuity.
• Supervise transportation staff, assign work, provide direction, and monitor performance.
• Review methods and propose cost-effective, compliant transportation options.
• Identify safety, environmental, or operational concerns and coordinate corrective actions.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation to ensure regulatory and contract compliance.
