Job summary

AAR in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking an experienced F-16 Avionics or Electrical/Environmental Technician III to modify, upgrade, inspect, test and repair avionic and electrical systems, including radar, radio, navigation and power subsystems.

The role requires appropriate degrees or equivalent experience and a valid Secret clearance; you will work on depot-level modifications, document records, and interact with customers and on-site representatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.
Associate's degree plus 4 years of related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.
High School Diploma plus 8 years of related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance or achieved a 7 Level in the specialty.
F-16 or F-15 experience strongly preferred.
At least a 7 Skill Level or equivalent strongly preferred.
5th generation aircraft experience is a plus.
Microsoft Office Suite skills are preferred.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

Modifies, upgrades, inspects, tests, adjusts, and repairs aircraft avionic and electrical systems, such as radar, radio, navigation, and power systems using hand tools and test equipment.
Inspects components of avionic and electrical systems and equipment for defects and for accuracy of assembly and installation.
Tests avionic and electrical systems under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness.
Calibrates installed, modified, or repaired systems to prescribed specifications.
Operates ground servicing equipment to test, inspect, and verify airworthiness of avionic and electrical systems.
Assist in fabricating wiring harnesses.
Document all required U.S. Government and program forms and documents.
Interact with program and customer representatives as well as on-site business or military representatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
