Job summary

FinWise Bank in Murray, UT is seeking a Deposit Operations Manager to lead the back-office functions for both Commercial and Consumer Bank money movement.

You will oversee ACH and Wire Transfer activities, ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and coordinate with Risk/Compliance on audits and findings. This role requires in-office work and supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, treasury, or finance.
• Strong understanding of deposit applications and GL mapping for financial accuracy.
• GL accounting background.
• NACHA/Payments experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Back-office management of Commercial and Consumer Bank money movement.
• Oversee ACH and Wire Transfer money movement in Deposit Operations.
• Ensure compliance with policies, laws, regulations; audit findings with risk/compliance.
• Direct Deposit Operations team per HR tools.
• Understand deposit applications and GL mapping for financial accuracy.
• Coordinate with external auditors on deposit testing and findings.
• Process NACHA files and wires daily via FedLine; handle escalations.
• Handle electronic banking, treasury management, ops support, and product implementation.
• Ensure ACH/wires have Treasury/Accounting approval.
• Manage chargebacks and disputes for cards/ACH.
• Manage card exceptions and suspected fraud activity.
• Streamline processes to improve efficiency.
• Oversee fund flows for FinWise fintech business models.

Tasks

• The Deposit Operations Manager role is responsible for back-office management of both the Commercial and Consumer Bank money movement
• Assists with daily oversight and direction for ACH and Wire Transfer money movement within Deposit Operations Department
• Ensures compliance with Operations policies and procedures, laws and regulations, and in conjunction with Risk/Compliance personnel also audit/exam findings and/or exceptions, and all other risk related to Deposit Operations
• Directly manages the Deposit Operations team in compliance with Bank standards, using HR approved tools
• Understands deposit applications and GL mapping to ensure financial accuracy
• Coordinates with external auditors regarding deposit testing and follows up on all relevant testing and findings
• Daily processing of NACHA files/wires via FedLine, and handles escalated task from staff
• Administrative responsibilities for all aspects of electronic banking, treasury management, operations support, and bank product implementation
• Ensure all ACH/wires have proper approval from Treasury/Accounting
• Manage chargebacks and disputes for cards/ACH
• Manage card exceptions and suspected fraud activity
• Ensures work efficiency by streamlining processes and procedures
• Manages and oversees the flow of funds for the Bank’s Fintech business models

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting, treasury or finance environment
• Demonstrated understanding of deposit applications and GL mapping to ensure financial accuracy
• GL accounting background
• NACHA/Payments experience strongly preferred
• Excellent spreadsheet and database skills
• Problem solving skills
• Strong organizational, critical thinking, and customer service skills
• Ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in-office in a team environment
• Direct supervisory experience strongly preferred

Required Education / Experience / License

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
• Valid Driver License
• Preferred: Certified AAP – Accredited ACH Professional & Wes-Pay ACH Network Certificate

Minimum Essential Requirements

• Sit or stand at a computer for long periods of time and look at a computer screen for several hours a day
• Work at an assigned FinWise office location
• Communicate with others in person, on the phone, virtual meeting and email
