Metro Credit Union in Massachusetts seeks a strategic Deposit Operations Manager to lead critical deposit and payment operations and advance automation and AI-enabled capabilities. The role reports to the VP, Operations and focuses on developing people, modernizing platforms, and reducing operational risk while enhancing member experiences.
Deposit operations are central to delivering safe, reliable, and seamless banking experiences for Metro members. This role exists to provide strong leadership across deposit and payment operations, strengthen controls and service levels, develop a high-performing team, and advance the processes, platforms, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities that support Metro's continued growth.

Reporting to the VP, Operations, this role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on both our operational performance and member experience while helping shape the future of operations through technology and AI-enabled solutions.
Coach, mentor, and develop a team of Deposit Operations professionals.
Establish clear performance expectations and accountability.
Create cross-training and succession plans to support operational resiliency.
Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and service excellence.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of ACH transactions, wire transfers, check processing, returns, stop payments, account maintenance, statements, and notices.
Manage operational support for consumer accounts, business accounts, and IRAs.
Monitor workload distribution, service levels, and quality standards across all supported functions.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and automate manual work.
Leverage AI-driven tools and operational insights to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Reduce operational risk while improving service delivery and turnaround times.
Support platform enhancements and operational modernization initiatives.
Maintain strong operational controls and audit readiness.
Partner with Risk, Compliance, Audit, Fraud, and Financial Crimes teams.
Develop corrective action plans and root-cause analyses for operational issues.
Ensure adherence to applicable regulations and industry requirements.
Serve as a key stakeholder for product and platform implementations.
Lead operational testing, validation, and user acceptance activities.
Manage vendor relationships, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
Coordinate change-readiness efforts and support successful implementations.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
7+ years of experience leading Deposit Operations within a financial institution.
Proven experience managing high-volume operational teams and workflows.
Strong knowledge of ACH and NACHA rules, Regulation E and Regulation CC requirements, wire transfer operations, check processing and exception management, and operational risk controls and compliance requirements.
Experience supporting audits, examinations, and operational control environments.
Demonstrated success leading process-improvement and operational-change initiatives.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification.
Experience implementing automation or AI-enabled operational processes.
Experience supporting core banking systems, digital banking platforms, payment systems, and operational technology enhancements.

$96,000 - $129,000 annually
The salary range listed provides a general expectation for the role. Final compensation is based on experience, unique strengths, and the impact you are expected to make. Metro also offers a competitive benefits package and additional perks that contribute to total compensation.
