Job summary

Capital Credit Union is seeking a detail-oriented Deposits Compliance Specialist in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The role supports front-line deposit account functions, including trusts, IRAs, HSAs, and related processes, with emphasis on accuracy and timely service.

You will assist with opening and processing deposit accounts, handle garnishments and levies, and ensure compliance across multiple account types while collaborating with Risk Management and other departments.

Qualifications

  • Well versed in deposit accounts, deposit operations, and compliance as normally acquired through a basic course or on-the-job experience.
  • Must have strong independent thinking skills with the ability to look for improved efficiencies and provide potential solutions for change.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend detailed and often technical instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals as normally acquired through completion of a high school education, coupled with some technical school or college training.
  • Ability to operate an on-line computer terminal (including a good working knowledge of the core computer system, the document archive system, E-Mail, Word, Excel), fax machine, and adding machine normally acquired through a basic course or three to six months of on-the-job experience.
  • Working knowledge of the products, services, and procedures needed to process transactions as normally acquired through three to six months of on-the-job experience, at least one of which is with the Credit Union.

Responsibilities

  • Assist employees with opening of and transactions on deposit and specialized accounts.
  • Track FAQs to ensure training materials cover common questions and update materials as needed.
  • Approve and verify transactions for IRAs/HSAs/Coverdell ESAs and assist with tax reporting and death claim processes.
  • Work with daily reports to ensure proper close-out procedures are followed.
  • Review deposit account forms and disclosures for accuracy and consistency.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and participate in system testing and maintenance updates.
  • Monitor the deceased member process for accuracy and reporting, coordinating with branches as needed.
  • Oversee the deposit account review process including openings/closings and rate changes.
  • Process state and federal garnishments and levies.
  • Support year-end reporting for IRAs/HSAs/Coverdell ESAs and 1099-INT.
