Job summary

Generative is seeking a Deployment Strategist to own the commercial and strategic success of customer deployments in industrial AI. You will map data flows, physical processes and commercial priorities on site, creating value through AI-enabled optimization and robust proposals.

You will work with plant operators, engineers, IT and executives to translate findings into compelling deployments, demos, and business cases, while traveling to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

We are partnering with a Series A industrial AI company building technology that improves how some of the world’s largest manufacturing facilities operate.

Its platform combines AI, production data and physics-based modelling to optimise critical decisions across complex industrial processes. The technology is already deployed in live, high-volume environments, operating around the clock and delivering measurable improvements across cost, quality, energy usage and productivity.

This is not conventional enterprise software. The product must work reliably inside enormous production facilities where decisions have immediate physical and commercial consequences.

The Role

As a Deployment Strategist, you will own the commercial and strategic success of customer deployments.

If the Forward Deployed Engineer acts as the CTO of a deployment, you will act as its CEO.

You will work directly with plant operators, engineers, IT teams and senior executives to understand complex operational problems, determine where AI can create the greatest value and turn those findings into commercially compelling deployments.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading engineering studies at prospective customer sites

You will often become the first person to comprehensively map how data, physical materials, operational decisions and commercial value move through a customer’s facility.

Who We’re Looking For

We are open to candidates from several backgrounds, including:

• Management consulting with a strong STEM education
• Industrial operations, process engineering or manufacturing
• Forward deployed engineering or software engineering
• Technical sales, solutions architecture or implementation
• Entrepreneurship, finance or other analytical, customer-facing roles

You should have:

• Exceptional critical thinking and structured problem-solving ability
• Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills
• Some programming and data experience, ideally including Python
• The ability to understand both technical systems and commercial problems
• Evidence of high achievement through academics, startups, competitions, side projects or professional impact
• Comfort operating with autonomy in an early-stage, fast-moving environment
• A genuine interest in manufacturing, physics and real-world industrial systems
• Willingness to travel regularly and spend time inside large production facilities

Experience in metals, mining, energy, oil and gas, chemicals or manufacturing would be valuable, but is not essential.
