Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
Trellis AI in San Francisco is hiring a Deployment Operations Specialist to keep our AI agents running smoothly for customers once live. You’ll monitor runs, triage exceptions, and own the remaining cases where a portal or payer rule changes.
You’ll sit between customers, deployment strategists, and engineering to ensure workflows are set up correctly and issues are caught before they affect patients. You’ll collaborate to turn learnings into fixes that improve agent performance.
Our AI agents process billions of dollars worth of therapies annually with patients in all fifty states. We do this by automating document intake, prior authorizations, and appeals at scale to streamline operations and accelerate care. We classify medical referrals, understand chart notes, and automate contract and reimbursement search to provide patients with accurate coverage determinations and cost responsibility. Think of us as the infrastructure behind how patients get their medications.
Trellis is a spinout from Stanford AI Lab and is backed by leading investors including YC, General Catalyst, Telesoft Partners, and executives at Google and Salesforce.
We're hiring a Deployment Operations Specialist to keep our agents running well for customers once they're live. Our agents handle intake, benefits checks, and prior authorizations across hundreds of healthcare locations. About 90% of scripts run end to end without a person touching them. You'll own the rest: the cases where a portal changed overnight, a payer rule shifted, or a location runs its procedure differently.
You'll sit between our customers, our deployment strategists, and engineering. You'll make sure every workflow is set up correctly, catch problems before they reach a patient, and turn what you learn into fixes that make the agents better.
Run live operations: Monitor agent runs across customers, triage exceptions, and resolve the cases that need a human
Configure workflows: Turn customer SOPs, screen recordings, and payer requirements into working agent configurations
QA and launch: Test new workflows before go-live and review early output during customer onboarding
Find patterns: Spot recurring failures, write them up clearly with examples, and work with engineering to fix the root cause
Support customers: Be a day-to-day point of contact for customer operations teams and keep them informed
Track the numbers: Measure throughput, accuracy, and turnaround time, and report how much work Trellis is taking off each customer's team
You're organized, detail-oriented, and calm when something breaks. You like figuring out why a process failed, not just patching it. You learn complex workflows quickly and enjoy explaining them simply.
2+ years in operations, implementation, customer success, or a similar role, ideally at a fast-growing startup
Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working with technical tools and data
Excellent written communication; you can explain an issue in two sentences
High ownership and the ability to juggle many customers and priorities at once
Healthcare operations, revenue cycle, or prior authorization experience is a big plus
Experience with SQL, scripting, or workflow automation tools is a plus
Deployment screen with Nate, Carly, Roberto, or Natalie
Take-home exercise
Behavioral, problem-solving, and communication assessment
Onsite: technical deep dive, behavioral interview, chat with Mac or Jacky, and lunch with the team
Real impact at massive scale: We serve patients in all fifty states and are scaling to hundreds of healthcare locations. You'll see exactly how many patients started therapy because the work ran right.
Incredible growth and traction: We've grown revenue 10x in the past few months alone.
Work with the founding team: Partner directly with founders and F500 customers, alongside healthcare operations leaders who have overseen 50+ locations.
Be at the forefront of AI in healthcare: Work on production-grade agentic systems that make critical healthcare decisions, not a demo.
World-class team: Join teammates who have won international physics olympiads, published economics research, were founding engineers at unicorn startups, and taught AI classes to hundreds of Stanford graduate students.
