Job summary

Our Fortune 500 client is seeking a Deployment Network Engineer to design, deploy and optimize network monitoring and automation platforms. This role supports enterprise tooling, telemetry, and observability while aligning with security and change-management standards.

The candidate will design tools, implement integrations, and build automation for provisioning and data collection. Prefer experience across SolarWinds, Splunk, Nagios, Cloud monitoring and scripting in Python/PowerShell.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, telecommunications, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in network tools deployment and management.
• Hands-on experience with at least two network monitoring/management tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain network monitoring and management tools platforms.
• Support and administer tools such as SolarWinds, LogiSplunk, Nagios, LiveNX.
• Develop and manage integrations, dashboards, and APIs between network tools and IT systems.
• Build and maintain automation workflows for network provisioning and data collection.
• Ensure availability, performance, and scalability of network tools infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define monitoring standards.
• Manage data ingestion pipelines for logs, SNMP traps, syslogs, telemetry.
• Create and maintain documentation, topology maps, and runbooks.
• Participate in incident response and RCA using monitoring data.

Position Title: Deployment Network Engineer

Duration: 6+ months with high possibilities of extension

On-Site: Pittsburgh PA or Memphis TN (Hybrid)

Pay Range: $40-$43/hr on W2

Network Tools Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing the platforms and tools used to monitor, manage, and automate enterprise network infrastructure. This role ensures the reliability and scalability of network management systems and supports operations by integrating network telemetry, observability, and automation solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong networking fundamentals with expertise in monitoring and automation tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain network monitoring and management tools platforms.


• Support and administer tools such as Solarwinds, LogiSplunk, Nagios, LiveNX.


• Develop and manage custom integrations, dashboards, and APIs between network tools and IT systems.


• Build and maintain automation workflows for network provisioning, configuration management, and data collection (e.g., using Ansible, Python, or REST APIs).


• Ensure availability, performance, and scalability of network tools infrastructure.


• Collaborate with network operations, engineering, and security teams to define monitoring and alerting standards.


• Manage data ingestion pipelines for logs, SNMP traps, syslogs, and streaming telemetry.


• Create and maintain documentation, topology maps, and operational runbooks.


• Participate in incident response and assist in root cause analysis through monitoring data and metrics.


• Evaluate and recommend new tools or enhancements to improve visibility, automation, and efficiency.


• Ensure compliance with security and change management policies.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field.


• 7+ years of experience in network tools deployment & management.


• Hands‑on experience with at least two network monitoring/management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, NetBrain, Splunk, Cisco DNA Center, ThousandEyes).


• Solid understanding of network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, SNMP, NetFlow, Syslog, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs).


• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and data processing.


• Experience with Linux system administration and API‑based integrations.


• Familiarity with cloud and hybrid network monitoring (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Preferred

• Monitoring/automation certifications (SolarWinds Certified Professional, Ansible Certified Engineer, etc.).


• Networking certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent).


• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, or Jenkins for network automation and CI/CD pipelines.
