Job Summary

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Deployment Manager will coordinate network and AMI endpoint activities to install system assets following a joint deployment plan co-developed with the utility. The Deployment Manager will communicate and coordinate with the Program Manager, utility staff, direct reports, internal SME support staff, and/or field installation subcontractors. Responsibilities include overseeing material forecasting, ordering, RMA, inventory management, conducting monthly field audits to ensure safety, quality, and functionality, documenting process issues or defects, and producing tracking and reporting on field results versus plan. The scope may include managing one or multiple projects.

Must be bilingual (English & French)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coordinate, and communicate the deployment plan with the utility.
  • Oversee metering endpoint and network deployment efforts, managing installation subcontractors responsible for installing endpoints and devices.
  • Lead the L+G AMI endpoint and network deployment SMEs.
  • Manage subcontractors ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and professionalism.
  • Assist in addressing deficiencies and defects found during testing/deployment.
  • Manage logistics for AMI endpoints and network materials.
  • Review and improve deployment and crossdock processes.
  • Manage the audit process for AMI endpoint and network equipment installation and oversee process improvements.
  • Develop deployment plans, reports, and monitoring tools.
  • Ensure network deployment milestones are met daily.
  • Handle customer complaints or claims for resolution.
  • Escalate issues as needed.
  • Provide technical direction for deployment activities.
  • Coordinate with field installation subcontractors and at cross docks.
  • Ensure processes follow utility requirements.
  • Coordinate supply chain and logistics activities.
  • Provide safety and project reporting to L+G and utility.
  • Support project data sharing with the utility scheduler.
  • Validate invoices for accuracy.
  • Represent the company professionally.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Ability to triage and prioritize deployment failures.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, CRM systems.
  • Customer satisfaction orientation.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Business travel with a personal credit card for expenses.
  • Effective in high-pressure environments.
  • Basic skills in scheduling, quality, and contract management.
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and KPIs.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage team members.
  • Travel 75-80% of the time.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, military/industry experience accepted.
  • At least 5 years in customer service/technical support in electronic technology fields.
  • Experience with utility operations, logistics, AMI, RF systems is a plus.
  • CAPM certification preferred or in progress.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements/Safety:

  • Office environment, sitting and working on a computer.
  • Up to 80% driving.
  • Physical ability to handle objects, stand, walk, crouch, and sit for long periods.
  • Safety equipment use as required.
