Job summary

Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP in Wheeling, WV seeks an Applications Engineer I to support deployment and operation of firm applications both on‑premises and in the cloud. You will assist in changes, testing, rollout, and post-implementation reviews under senior guidance.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in IT or CS and 2+ years with Microsoft technologies; familiarity with Nexthink, Power Platform, and VDI is a plus. Occasional after-hours work is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Two or more years of experience supporting enterprise applications, endpoints, or Microsoft technologies; law firm or professional-services experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows, Azure, Intune, and cloud-based application environments.
• Strong knowledge of laptop and desktop hardware.
• Solid understanding of networking and server operating systems.
• Experience supporting client-side remote access solutions (e.g., Zscaler, Cisco AnyConnect).
• Experience with Power Platform and SQL or relational databases; VDI/DaaS experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support a defined portfolio of on-premises and cloud applications, including deployment and maintenance.
• Provide second-level application support and coordinate resolution with service teams and vendors.
• Plan and execute application changes, testing, rollout, rollback, and post-implementation reviews.
• Document requirements and help evaluate applications to improve productivity and client service.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks; track tickets and changes.
