Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Deployed Support Specialist to support mission‑critical military network operations in Carderock, MD. The role requires an active Secret clearance, hands-on Cisco routing and switching, AD administration, and firewall/IDS/IPS expertise to sustain secure, high‑performing networks.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in network engineering, network operations, or technical support.
• Active Secret Security clearance required.
• Experience with Layer 2/Layer 3 routing and switching.
• Hands-on experience configuring Cisco network infrastructure.
• Experience supporting military networks (Navy/Marine Corps) preferred.
• Knowledge of firewalls and network security principles.
• Experience administering Active Directory environments.
• IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE)
• CCNA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure environments.
• Perform Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing and switching configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Support Global Navy/Marine Corps network operations and mission-critical communication systems.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco networking equipment, including routers and switches.
• Monitor network performance and resolve complex infrastructure issues with independent judgment.
• Support and maintain firewall technologies and network security controls.
• Assist with IDS/IPS management and overall network security initiatives.
• Administer and support Active Directory environments.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, system configurations, and procedures.
• Collaborate with teams to identify infrastructure improvements and strategic solutions.
• Support systems architecture planning and network modernization initiatives.
• Travel as needed to support network operations and project activities.

The Deployed Support Specialist will leverage expertise in Cisco routing and switching Active Directory Firewalls, and network security technologies to design, maintain, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure. Salary: $55,000-62,400 depending on experience

• Experience administering Active Directory environments
• IAT Level II certification, such as CompTIA Security+ CE
• Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) network support certification, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred
• Education: High School Diploma or GED

Compensation for the Deployed Support Specialist includes:

Salary: $55,000-62,400 Depending on experience
