This role is for a Program Specialist within Health Services, focusing on overseeing the Innovation in Behavioral Health (IBH) Model, a Cooperative Agreement with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The specialist will provide expertise in integrating behavioral and physical health services for individuals with Medicare and Medicaid, emphasizing alternative payment models, addressing social determinants of health, and managing complex delivery systems as outlined in the IBH Model Notice of Funding Opportunity.
The position involves leading the implementation and oversight of the IBH model cooperative agreement, ensuring compliance with CMS goals and federal requirements. Responsibilities include developing a comprehensive care delivery framework that integrates physical and behavioral health services, especially for individuals with moderate to severe behavioral health diagnoses. The role requires collaboration with Practice Participants, state and federal partners, and other stakeholders to align the IBH Model with Michigan’s Mental Health Code, Medicaid requirements, and to enhance data sharing, health information technology, and reporting standards set by CMS. Additionally, the specialist will develop value-based payment structures for Medicaid and Medicare beneficiaries with MSBH, ensuring accurate reporting and data submission to CMS.

Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree in any major.
Experience: Four years of professional experience, including at least two years at the P11 level or one year at the 12 level.
The physical work location is 400 S. Pine Street, with remote options available based on operational needs. Candidates approved for remote or hybrid work must work within Michigan and confirm their work location and schedule at the time of interview.
Employees will be provided with necessary equipment, but remote workers must ensure a secure, private workspace, high-speed internet (minimum 25 Mbps download, 5 Mbps upload), and suitable furniture and utilities. The use of AI software in the application process is prohibited.
