The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is seeking a Product Owner for the Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS), focusing on the Adoption/Payment module related to payments and eligibility. This role involves advanced knowledge in case management, adoption, and eligibility processes, and requires decision-making skills to support the development and prioritization of the module, which has a broad stakeholder community and significant importance beyond MDHHS.
The PO is a key leadership role responsible for engaging in design, development, and implementation activities, including daily agile tasks such as user story creation, acceptance criteria establishment, and backlog prioritization. The PO must ensure the product aligns with business needs and maintain an in-depth understanding of the backlog to make informed decisions.
Guided by the CCWIS Executive Committee and the Director, the PO will operate with a degree of independence to implement the product vision, considering input from various stakeholders and collaborating with system and business owners, including existing MiSACWIS support resources. Candidates should have at least three years of experience working on the MiSACWIS/CCWIS team.

Bachelor’s degree in any major is required.
Four years of professional experience, including two years at the P11 level or one year at the 12 level.
The physical location is 235 S. Grand Ave, Lansing, MI. Remote or hybrid work requests may be considered based on operational needs.
Employees working remotely must have a suitable home office setup, including a secure location, high-speed internet, and necessary utilities.
