Job description

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is seeking a Product Owner (PO) for the Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS) Adoption/Payment module, focusing on payments and eligibility. This critical role involves advanced knowledge of case management, adoption, and eligibility processes, and requires decision-making to support discovery, development, and prioritization of the product. The PO will engage in design, development, and implementation tasks, including user story development, establishing acceptance criteria, and backlog prioritization. The role demands an in-depth understanding of the product backlog and the ability to make ongoing prioritization decisions.

The PO will work under the vision set by the CCWIS Executive Committee and the Director, balancing input from multiple stakeholders and system owners. Candidates should have at least three years of experience working with MiSACWIS/CCWIS. Responsibilities include ensuring the product meets business needs and managing the product backlog effectively.

Position details:

  • Location: 235 S. Grand Ave, Lansing, MI, with possible remote or hybrid work arrangements based on operational needs.
  • Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in any major, four years of professional experience including two at the P11 level or one at the 12 level.
