Under the general direction of the Associate Director, the Departmental Construction and Maintenance Supervisor (DCMS) is responsible for the administration and management of the Policy, Planning & System Support Unit (PPSSU), and responsible for forecasting future maintenance requirements; identifying potential issues related to maintenance and repairs; and developing, budgeting, and managing repair and maintenance projects at California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) institutions and facilities. For repair and maintenance projects at assigned institutions, the DCMS ensures that specifications and plans are accurate and in compliance with the scope, schedule, applicable budget language, codes, regulations, and hazardous materials requirements. Statewide travel is required.

The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process. Facility Planning, Construction and Management, a Headquarters location, offers a secure access facility with an on-site fitness center, free parking, as well as a variety of nearby shopping locations.

Travel is required for site visits to institutions statewide.

The position(s) may be eligible for hybrid telework, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The amount of telework permitted is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change.
