Under the clinical direction of the Regional Dental Director and the administrative direction of the Health Program Manager III, the Supervising Dentist (SD), Correctional Facility (CF) supervises and oversees the work of the Dentists, CF, and the Supervising Dental Assistant (SDA), CF within an institution. The SD, CF is responsible for ensuring clinical staff complies with The Incarcerated Dental Services Program (IDSP) Policies and Procedures (P&P), and State and federal regulations. The SD, CF also provides leadership, chart reviews, training, clinical instruction, and guidance to clinical staff within the dental clinic.

Tuberculosis (TB) testing is required for candidates new to CCHCS prior to appointment followed by department annual TB testing/evaluation thereafter.
