Job summary

St. David's Center is seeking a Department Teacher to join our team of early childhood education specialists serving children 16 months through five years.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary from $44,600 to $52,400, benefits including health/dental insurance and PTO, and opportunities to contribute to a diverse, inclusive learning environment. You will implement classroom activities, nurture relationships with families, maintain classroom materials, and model positive behavior

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree with 1,040 hours as an assistant teacher, aide, or student intern with 18 education hours.
• First Aid & CPR certification required.
• Experience: Early childhood teaching experience required.
• Knowledge of NAEYC Standards and DHS Licensing Rule 3 preferred.
• Experience with students with special education needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing classroom activities around themes or concepts.
• Maintain flexibility to allow children's interests to guide classroom direction.
• Lead some activities as requested by Head Teacher.
• Establish positive relationships with parents and maintain boundaries.
• Organize and maintain classroom materials and spaces.
• Nurture and guide children in all areas of development.
• Actively participate with children and model positive behaviors.

Department Teacher

Compensation (Pay/Benefits) Our employees are our most valuable asset; therefore, we offer competitive pay and benefits. The pay range for these positions starts at $44,600 - $52,400, depending on qualifications (i.e., licensure and experience). Please inquire with interest. This salary reflects a 40-hour workweek, annualized. Any agreed-upon reduction in weekly hours will be reflected in salary commensurately.
This position is benefits eligible, including health and dental insurance, health savings account with an employer contribution, flexible spending accounts, and retirement account with matching contribution. Additionally, we offer generous PTO, paid holiday schedule, childcare discount, and eligibility for loan forgiveness!

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. Schedule varies with daily shifts between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Position Overview:

• Assist in implementing classroom activities around themes or concepts that incorporate the interests of the classroom community.
• Maintain enough flexibility to allow children's interests to guide classroom direction.
• Be responsible for and lead some activities as requested by the Head Teacher.
• Establish and maintain positive, pleasant and trusting relationships with parents, respecting their individual needs and maintaining professional and appropriate boundaries.
• Take responsibility for the organization, cleaning and maintenance of classroom materials and common spaces.
• Partner with, nurture, and guide children in all areas of development.
• Actively participate with children.
• Model acceptable behaviors and utilize behavior management techniques in the classroom.
• Discipline calmly and in a positive manner.
• Follow the St. David's Center and DHS Behavior Policy.
