The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Surgery, Division of Burn Trauma Acute and Critical Care Surgery, is seeking a Trauma, Critical Care and Acute Care Surgeon.
Roughly 80% of the surgeon’s clinical time would be spent as a Trauma, Critical Care and Acute Care Surgeon at either Parkland Health & Hospital System and William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital in Dallas. Approximately 20% of the surgeon’s clinical time would be spent at the North Dallas, UT Southwestern Frisco campus (Level-3 Trauma Center).
The Division of Burn, Trauma, Acute and Critical Care Surgery is comprised of >20 university-appointed faculty members, performing more than 4,500 operating room cases per year, generating 160,000 RVUs. The division covers Parkland Health & Hospital System, Clements University Hospital, Children’s Medical Center and Zale Lipshy University Hospital. Additionally, this position may be seeing patients at our newest facility in Frisco, TX. Last year the division evaluated over 3,500 trauma patients playing a significant role in a mature regional trauma system. The Division also performed over 3000 emergency non-trauma operations and over 800 burn operations.
Applicants must be Board Certified/Eligible in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care and eligible for a Texas Medical License. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
