Bethel University of Tennessee in Tennessee is seeking a Program/Department Manager to oversee the PA Program's administrative functions, including budgeting, scheduling, training, and events.
Reporting to the Program Director and Dean, the role ensures compliance with university standards and effective support for academic outcomes. Requires strong organizational and data-analytic abilities.
Under the general supervision of the Program director, the Program / Department Manager is responsible for managing the administrative functions of the PA Program to consist of financial planning and tracking; managing the certification and training of faculty for this Emergency Management Resources training site; manage, coordinate and negotiate department programs, seminars, workshops, travel, special projects, and events; and conduct administrative tasks as defined by the Program Director.
The Program / Department manager works closely with Bethel University's Accounting Department and other departments within the University to ensure compliance with university standards in regards to business practices and academic and administrative outcomes. The overall performance goal is to ensure effectiveness of the PA Program business and administrative practices to support the mission of the University, policies and procedures of the administration, and directives of the Board of Trustees.
Under the general direction of the Dean of the College of Health Sciences.
Under the direct supervision of the Program Director.
Responsible for 1 shift, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week. Incumbents are subject to overtime as deemed necessary.
Knowledge/Education
Bachelor's degree in education, business, or related field of study or equivalent experience; must be a self-starter; must be able to perform without direct supervision; must be accountable; must be able to analyze success/failures and basic percentages to set self‑goals and objectives; ability to develop and deliver presentations; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports; skill in examining and re‑engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures; ability to develop, plan, and implement short‑ and long‑range goals; knowledge of student recruitment and retention issues; ability to plan and evaluate programs; ability to analyze course prerequisites, certification, and/or curriculum/graduation requirements; organizing and coordinating skills; skill in the configuration and use of computerized database programs; and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Experience
1‑3 years experience in administrative office setting and/or managerial position, preferred healthcare professions school or education. Internet, computer and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Skills.

Master's Degree in education, business, or related field of study or equivalent experience.
