Join us as a Department Manager in Training at McDonald’s.

This position is for a Department Manager in Training. Ideal candidates should have previous Assistant Manager or long‑term Shift Leader experience. A background in quick service restaurants is strongly desired, or experience in hospitality or retail. You must be 18 years or older for this position.

If you do not have prior Assistant Manager or long‑term Shift Leader experience, please consider applying for a Shift Leader or Crew position.

Responsibilities

• Department Managers lead shifts like Shift Leaders to ensure customers get fast, accurate and friendly experience every visit.
• Lead a Department and manage assigned systems.
• Set goals, delegate tasks to teams, motivate teams, follow up on assigned tasks.
• Create action plans to improve results and train other restaurant employees.
• There are 3 Department Managers in each restaurant.
• Guest Service Department Manager responsibilities: ensuring Crew and Managers deliver a great customer experience; executing LTOs at a high level; training service staff in service procedures; executing community involvement initiatives effectively; maintaining cleanliness of assigned area and planned maintenance of equipment.
• Kitchen Department Manager responsibilities: ensuring the restaurant delivers great quality food in a quick manner; managing food safety; managing food cost; completing inventory counts; completing truck orders; training kitchen staff; maintaining cleanliness of assigned area and planned maintenance of equipment.
• People Department Manager responsibilities: interviewing, hiring, onboarding, retention, scheduling, crew training, manager training, monthly FUN calendar execution, positive culture in restaurant, maintaining cleanliness of assigned area and planned maintenance of equipment.

Qualifications

• Previous Managerial Experience is required, ideally within a restaurant, retail or hospitality environment.
