What are we looking for?

The Geotechnical Engineering Department Manager is responsible for the overall management of a profit center, including planning growth, profitability, cost control, employee development, quality control, and client relations within the Geotechnical Department.

What you’ll do:

• Direct and execute one or all of the following geotechnical project assignments, which may include field exploration, laboratory services, engineering analysis, report preparation, and report technical review.
• Provide quality control review of proposals and reports, and direct operations to consistently meet client commitments.
• Actively participate in business development and marketing efforts while establishing and maintaining client relationships related to technical aspects of our assignments.
• Mentor and train junior professional staff.
• Engage in relationship building with professional and technical organizations.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited ABET‑recognized school required.
• 5+ years of leadership, management, and/or engineering project management experience required.
• Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration required.
• Customer‑focused and quality‑driven attitude required.
• Effective written, verbal, and listening communication skills and solid interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to read and understand work plans required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record required.

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
• ICC, NICET and/or ACI certifications a plus.
• P&L and basic accounting experience preferred.
• Sales, marketing, and client management experience preferred.
• Prior personnel management, hiring, and training experience preferred.
