Beaufort Memorial Hospital is seeking a Director of Med Surg for Bluffton Community Hospital, a new 28-bed facility opening 2026–2027 as part of SOBH expansion. You will lead nursing staff, ensure patient-centered care, and collaborate across departments within the SOBH network.

The role requires SC nursing licensure with BSN/MSN preferred, and 2–5 years of clinical leadership experience. This is a full-time exempt leadership position in a growing hospital system.

Competenze

• South Carolina license required; BSN or MSN preferred.
• 2–5 years clinical experience with demonstrated leadership.
• Experience in a nurse manager or charge nurse role is preferred.

Description

**South of Broad Healthcare (SOBH) is expanding access to high-quality, community-based healthcare throughout southern Beaufort County and the surrounding Lowcountry. Grounded by a mission of delivering compassionate, patient-centered care, SOBH supports strategic growth designed to bring essential healthcare services closer to the people and communities we serve. At the center of SOBH is Bluffton Community Hospital, a new 28 bed, full-service hospital. Approximately 90,000 square foot facility will include a 24/7 emergency department, an acute inpatient nursing unit, surgical and endoscopy suites, a cardiac catheterization lab, advanced imaging, laboratory services, and additional outpatient capabilities. The hospital is scheduled for completion in late 2026, with patient care anticipated to being early 2027.

Bluffton Community Hospital represents more than the construction of a new facility – it reflects a long-term investment in the health, economic vitality, and future of one of South Carolina’s first fast-growing communities. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates delivery of patient care. Provides direction to development and evaluation of all staff on the Nursing Unit. Maintains operational aspects of the unit in collaboration with other professionals within the hospital and community. Carries out other functions as needed. Works collaboratively with all departments. Supports the Bluffton CommunityNursing Mission and Vision as demonstrated through support of the Bluffton Community Hospitalprofessional practice model (Shared Governance) objectives, educational and research efforts.

Position Requirements

Education:

• Ability to obtain a South Carolina License. Prefer Baccalaureate or Master's Degree.

Experience:

• 2-5 years clinical experience, including assistant manager or charge nurse. Demonstrated leadership attributes. Position requires specific knowledge to render care over the life continuum.

Certifications/Licenses:

• Holds current South Carolina license. BLS required.
