Job summary

The University of North Texas Health Fort Worth seeks a Chair of the Department of Public Health and Health Administration within the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. The Chair will provide strategic leadership for a newly organized department created through restructuring and will advance education, scholarship, service, and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, ScD, EdD, DHA, or equivalent) in public health, health administration, healthcare management, epidemiology, health policy, health services research, or a related discipline.
• Record of scholarly achievement appropriate for appointment as Associate Professor or Professor.
• Experience leading CEPH-accredited public health and/or CAHME accredited health administration programs.
• Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership for the Department of Public Health and Health Administration.
• Lead the continued integration and development of the department within TCOM.
• Develop and implement strategic goals aligned with TCOM and UNTH priorities.
• Manage departmental operations, budgets, personnel, and resources.
• Promote a culture of excellence, collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
• Ensure quality and continuous improvement of all academic programs.
• Provide strategic oversight of curricular content.
• Advance interprofessional education within TCOM (DO, PA, and Public Health) and with other UNTH programs.
• Lead accreditation, assessment, and quality improvement efforts.
• Recruit, develop, mentor, and evaluate faculty and staff.
• Foster scholarly activity, research collaboration, and community engagement.
• Strengthen partnerships with healthcare systems, public health agencies, and community organizations.
