Job summary

Sinclair Community College in Dayton, OH, invites applications for the Chairperson of the Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Business Information Systems department. This role is open to current Sinclair tenure-track or tenured faculty only and includes leading the department and advancing student-centered learning.

The position emphasizes curriculum development, assessment, and collaboration across divisions, with a commitment to innovation and technology-enhanced instruction.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in business management or business information systems, or a master's with at least 18 semester credits in BIS/management.
• Currently employed at Sinclair as a full-time, tenure-track faculty member.
• Experience in administration/supervision preferred.
• Quality college teaching experience required.
• Knowledge of utilizing technology in instruction.
• Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
• Effective problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision making skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and create a climate of open communication, collegiality, and teamwork within the department.
• Lead student-centered learning strategies and improve student success.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to update curriculum, schedule classes, assess learning outcomes, and manage budgets.
• Support, supervise, and evaluate department faculty and staff.
• Encourage innovation, distance learning, and use of technology in the learning environment.
• Collaborate with Sinclair divisions, K-12, and four-year institutions to enhance curriculum.
• Support divisional and college-wide initiatives related to enrollment, assessment, and retention; represent the department at divisional/college levels.
• Teach within the department and meet tenure-track expectations.
