Job summary

Redding Rancheria seeks a licensed Dentist to join its tribal health program in California. This full-time role offers a preferred four 10-hour shift schedule and eligibility for Out of Area Differential Pay to support staff commuting.

You will provide comprehensive dental care, supervise dental staff, review patient records, and collaborate with medical teams to treat medically complex patients. Indian preference applies; applicants must pass background checks and screenings.

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD from an accredited school.
• Current California State Board of Dentistry License.
• CPR certification.
• Current DEA Class 3 License.
• Demonstrated work experience as a Dentist in private or clinical practice.
• Indian preference.
• Must be fingerprinted and pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide dental care services to patients in the clinic service area.
• Assist the Dental Director with coordination of administrative procedures.
• Perform skills defined by RRTHC Scope of Services.
• Provide routine dental care including restorative, preventative, crown/bridge, endodontics, pediatric and prosthetics dentistry, and oral surgery as needed.
• Record patient histories, examinations, and develop treatment plans with follow-up and prescriptions.
• Review patient charts and document visits in the Electronic Dental Record per policy.
• Provide guidance to other clinic personnel and supervise Hygienists and Assistants.
• Consult with dental staff on patient care issues and participate in protocol development.

The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Dentis t. This is a full-time position with a preferred schedule of four 10-hour shifts.

Out of Area Differential Pay is available for this position to incentivize qualified staff to commute from a longer distance. This will allow Trinity Health Care patients to receive better quality care. The listed wage reflects the entry-level rate for this position. Compensation may be adjusted based on experience, education, and qualifications.

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide dental care services to patients within the clinic service area. Assist the Dental Director with the coordination of administrative procedures.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Dentistry with Doctor Dental Surgery (DDS) degree or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD).
• Current California State Board of Dentistry License.
• CPR certification.
• Current DEA Class 3 License.
• Demonstrated work experience as a Dentist in private or clinical practice.
• Indian preference.
• Must be fingerprinted and pass background check.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

1. 1. Performs all skills as defined by the RRTHC Scope of Services.
2. 2. Provide routine dental care services including general restorative and preventative procedures, crown and bridge, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, prosthetics dentistry, identifying oral pathology and provide oral surgery.
3. 3. Provide dental care services, including obtaining dental history specific to the patient's current clinic visit, completing appropriate examination of patient, and developing treatment plan with appropriate follow up and writing prescriptions for required medication.
4. 4. Review patient charts preceding appointments and record visits in appropriate format.
5. 5. Provide clinical guidance and counsel to other clinic personnel.
6. 6. Supervise clinical procedures performed by Registered Dental Hygienists and Registered Dental Assistants.
7. 7. Record patient chart entries subjectively in Electronic Dental Record, following RRTHS policies and MediCal guidelines.
8. 8. Consult with clinic dental staff on patient care issues.
9. 9. Participate in the development, maintenance and review of dental department protocols, policies and standardized procedures.
10. 10. Ensure all OSHA, Dental Board, and Redding Rancheria Dental Clinic policies and procedures are properly followed.
11. 11. Interact with patients and instruct them on proper oral care and nutritional counselling
12. 13. Obtains appropriate consultations or refer to specialists when problems presented are outside the scope of practice or when unfamiliar with a particular aspect of patient care.
13. 14. Work closely with medical personnel to provide care for medically complex patients.
14. 15. Share in administrative tasks including verification of PRC/benefits, hygiene sign offs/face to face encounters.
15. 16. Provide anxiolytic medication for dental phobic patients (Nitrous oxide).
16. 17. Rotate among other Redding Rancheria health campuses.
