Job summary

Community Health Connections in Gardner, MA invites a licensed dentist to provide direct dental care to patients within a busy community health setting. You will supervise dental assistants and hygienists while ensuring compliance with DPH, OSHA and ADA standards.

Qualifications

  • DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school or minimum Bachelor's Degree in Dental Surgery.
  • Massachusetts Controlled Substance certificate and DEA required.
  • Certified in CPR
  • Licensed in Massachusetts to practice Dentistry/Valid Massachusetts Limited License in Dentistry.
  • Minimum of three years’ professional experience preferred.
  • Public Health experience preferred.
  • Proficient reading, writing, and speaking in English required.

  • Awareness of resources available within the health center to accommodate the needs of patients.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Competencies: Individual departments will develop competencies which will be communicated and maintained through CHC's performance evaluation system.

Supervision Exercised: Functional responsible of chair-side Dental Assistant, Certified Dental Assistant.

Environmental Working Conditions: The environment is a normal office environment of a busy Community Health Center. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to saliva and blood-borne pathogens. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of radiation.

Physical and Mental Requirements: The physical and mental demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job with or without a reasonable accommodation. The individual must be in good health of mind and body with the physical dexterity and vision suitable to accomplish the job duties outlined above. Knowledge of proper patient transfer assistance is also required and the ability to lift as much as 50 pounds may be necessary.
