Job summary

Wellpath seeks a licensed dentist to provide dental services to inmate patients within the assigned facility, adhering to security regulations and maintaining precise documentation. The role emphasizes comprehensive dental care, routine cleanings, treatments, and patient education in a secure, supportive environment.

The position requires graduation from an accredited dental school, a current state license, and CPR certification, with a preference for at least one year of general dentistry

Qualifications

• One year of experience in general dentistry preferred.
• Must have and maintain current licensure as a dentist in the state of employment.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides dental care and treatment to referred patients in accordance with facility regulations and standards.
• Performs routine cleaning, restorative dentistry, and extractions as needed.
• Evaluates patients' dental care needs and makes clinically appropriate recommendations.
• Takes impressions for dental appliances and instructs patients in good dental hygiene techniques.
• Maintains accurate and confidential patient records and provides in-service training for health staff members.
