Dentist - Endodontist (Intermittent) - Mare Island

Summary

The Endodontist appointed to the Medical Staff of the VA Northern California Health Care System assigned to Dental Service is an independent, licensed practitioner holding a full and unrestricted license in any state. Endodontists will be graduates of an ADA-accredited dental school and, where applicable, will have completed an accredited residency in Endodontic Specialty.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in hospital or outpatient settings to adults, with or without medical conditions.
• Interpret dental radiographs and deliver diagnostic consultations and treatments within their privileges.
• Function as an integral member of the dental team.
• Provide consultation and treatment within scope of privileges.
• Educate and train medical staff through conferences, committees, and lectures.
• Participate in administrative, educational, or special projects as assigned.

Work Schedule

Variable work schedule (Intermittent hours). Shifts may vary based on patient care needs.

Requirements

• U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen when recruitment is challenging.
• Successful completion of urinalysis screening for illegal drugs prior to employment.
• Selective Service registration for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Proficiency in English.
• Background/security investigation clearance.
• Complete online onboarding and provide acceptable identification.
• Pass pre-employment physical exam.
• Participation in seasonal influenza vaccination program.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet educational and licensure requirements, including graduation from an ADA-accredited dental school, completion of a residency in Endodontics, and holding a current unrestricted dental license.

Preferred Experience

• Completion of an Endodontic Residency Program.
