Job description

The Endodontist appointed to the Medical Staff of the VA Northern California Health Care System, assigned to Dental Service, is an independent, licensed practitioner holding a full and unrestricted license in any state. The candidate will be a graduate of an ADA-accredited dental school and, where applicable, a graduate of an accredited residency in the applicable Endodontic Specialty.

Duties:

3. The endodontist provides direct patient care in hospital or outpatient settings to adults, with or without acute and chronic medical conditions, and serves as a consultant to other healthcare providers.
4. They are experienced in interpreting dental radiographs and delivering diagnostic consultations and clinical dental treatments as outlined in their individual approved privileges.
5. The major duties include, but are not limited to: functioning as an equal member within the larger team of staff dentists and auxiliary staff.
6. Responsible for providing consultation and treatment within the scope of their specific clinical privileges.
7. Provide education and training to medical staff through conferences, committees, and lecture series.
8. May be assigned administrative or managerial responsibilities through participation in clinical, educational, and administrative committees, task groups, or special projects.
