Optimus is the largest Federally Qualified Health Center providing primary care services in lower Fairfield County, in the cities of Stamford, Bridgeport, Stratford and surrounding areas. We are currently recruiting for a full-time Dentist to join our clinic in Bridgeport, CT. to provide direct comprehensive and emergency dental care to patients. On Occasion, this role requires coverage at other Optimus Dental Clinics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Demonstrate competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.

2. Examine patient's intraoral and perioral structures utilizing radiographs and other diagnostic materials.

3. Diagnose dental disorders, including but not limited to those caused by disease, injury, genetics, and environment.

4. Determine etiology of dental diseases and disorders.

5. Evaluate the effect of systemic disorders and pharmacologic treatment on dental conditions.

6. Advise patients of treatment plan alternatives and options.

7. Treat patients' dental diseases and disorders to restore function and esthetics in a comprehensive manner.

8. Provide patients with dental health education.

9. Monitor patients treated in conjunction with the Dental Clinical Director.

10. Practice infection control and employs the management plan to meet OSHA, CDC, ADA, and JCAHO standards.

11. Consult with the Dental Clinical Director on referral and other matters pertaining to dental health services.

ADDITIONAL GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Professional attitude, vision, understanding of customer service principals, trustworthiness, and excellent interpersonal skills to successfully accomplish tasks necessary to meet high standards of ethical and social responsibility required by this position.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION : DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.

EXPERIENCE : Minimum two (2) years' experience. Background in a fast-paced clinical setting recommended. Familiarity with tele-medicine and prior experience a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS : Bi-Lingual English / Spanish a plus

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Basic math skills as it applies to a clinical setting

REASONING ABILITY : Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION : Current Connecticut Dental License, current Drug Enforcement Act (DEA) license, current Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection Controlled Substance license, CPR certification required upon hire and recertification bi-annually

REQUIREMENTS : Must be able to travel between sites
