Job summary

Tuolumne Me-Wuk Indian Health Center in Sonora, CA, is seeking a Dentist to provide comprehensive dental care to Tribal members and eligible patients. The role reports to the Dental Director and works Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm in a patient-centered, culturally sensitive environment.

The position emphasizes diagnostic, preventive, restorative, and minor surgical procedures, with emphasis on high standards of practice.

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school.
• Current, unrestricted California dental license.
• DEA registration.
• CPR/BLS certification; valid California Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental examinations, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
• Provide preventive, restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, periodontal, and minor oral surgical procedures.
• Document all patient care accurately in the electronic dental record.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and treatment options.
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure coordinated, efficient patient care.
• Maintain infection control standards, OSHA regulations, and HIPAA requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement activities, peer review, and continuing education.
• Provide culturally sensitive care and build trusting relationships with patients and the community.
• Supervise dental assistants as appropriate and support a positive team environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
