Job summary

Tuolumne Me-Wuk Indian Health Center in Sonora, CA is seeking a Dental Hygienist to provide preventive care and education to Tribal members and eligible patients. Reporting to the Dental Director, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered hygiene services in a culturally sensitive environment.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in dental hygiene, a CA RDH license, CPR/BLS, and compliance with credentialing. Schedule: M-F; 4–10 hour shifts; Non-Exempt status.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in dental hygiene from an accredited program.
• Current, unrestricted California RDH license required.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Valid California Driver’s License required.
• Must comply with credentialing and background screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive oral health assessments including periodontal charting and medical/dental history review.
• Provide prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, fluoride treatments, and sealants.
• Take and interpret dental radiographs according to protocols.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and preventive care.
• Document all patient care accurately in the dental record.
• Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants for coordinated care.
• Maintain infection control standards per OSHA/HIPAA.
