Job summary

Wexford Health Sources, Inc. invites a Dentist to lead and provide high-quality dental care at Western New Mexico Correctional Facility South in Grants, NM.

You will serve as the clinical authority on dental matters and oversee a full dental department, delivering preventive, restorative, surgical, periodontal, endodontic, and prosthodontic services. You will supervise staff, ensure accurate recordkeeping, manage radiographs, refer non-site procedures, and maintain department policies while

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD degree required.
• Active unrestricted dental license in state of practice.
• Board certified or board-eligible in dentistry.
• Active DEA license required.
• Active CPR certification required.
• Minimum 1 year practicing dentistry; correctional experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a full range of general dentistry services (preventive, restorative, surgical, periodontal, endodontic, prosthodontic) per facility policy.
• Oversee staff in cleanings, impressions for prosthetics, oral hygiene programs, and recordkeeping.
• Perform and interpret radiographic examinations.
• Arrange referrals for on-site non-routine procedures.
• Set treatment priorities and determine appropriateness of non-routine care.
• Document examinations using dental classification systems (e.g., APHA).
• Maintain dental office security including instrument, medication, and needle counts.
• Submit monthly dental department activity reports.
• Develop and update departmental policies and procedures.
• Participate in staff development and ensure compliance with facility standards.
